Hi, I'm Kate

I am a very-tall, pug-cross loving, shopping obsessed, super nerdy pun-enthusiast and just over 7-years ago (after cutting my teeth in the magazine industry) I started my blog, Drop Dead Gorgeous Daily from scratch.

I had no idea what I was doing.

I didn't even realise it was a blog (I didn't even know what a blog was to be honest!)

But I must have done something right as today DDG has 450,000+ readers a month, with multiple 6-figure revenue and 5 staff.

And now I want to show other bloggers how they can do it too, because if I can, any one can, once they know how (but much, much quicker of course!)

I'm so excited that you have dropped in to say Hi!

And PS - The weather up here is just fine, thanks for asking!

Why I created Secret Bloggers' Business

One thing I get asked again and again is how I turned my little shoe-money side-project into an amazingly rewarding and profitable business.

Well, it's just that. I've always treated my blogging like a business. And you can too!

I was lucky enough to have a background in both publishing and advertising, and a degree in business as well, so I had a head start.  The rest I learned the good old fashioned way, with seven years of trial and error, hard work, and occasionally even a few tears.

Over my blogging journey I have created my own collection of nail polishes with Revlon, been the official blogger for LÓreal Melbourne Fashion Week (twice), sat front row at New York Fashion Week, been nominated for Cosmopolitan magazine's Fun Fearless Female awards and the B&T Women in Media awards, and named one of Anthill's 30 under 30 entrepreneurs. I guess you could say, I know my stuff!

Now I've turned my biggest blogging and business lessons into three different online courses for bloggers, Ready, Set, Blog (the 12-month beginner blogger program),  Secret Bloggers' Business Bootcamp (a 6-week intensive course specialising in monetization, branding and growing traffic like crazy) and Blog To Boss (the advanced blogging course that shows any established blogger how to create & sell a successful eProduct).  I want to help every blogger, old or new, to go pro with their blog, and start turning their hobby into their career.

this is the stuff that no one seems to like to talk about, the real stuff that works from someone who has been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt (in at least three colours!).

  • With the help of Kate and the blog squad community, I have moved to a self hosted site, relaunched & rebranded my website, doubled my traffic and started to build a mailing list, all in less than 2 months. My advice, stop thinking about it and just do it!
